I have had variations on this casserole before, but this is the simplest recipe I have come across. Also if you read my journal entry of March 17, 2006 ( http://20birds.net/writing.htm )... you will see how special the evening was when we enjoyed this together. --- beth

 


(Tammy Amodeo)

1 kg bag of frozen hash browns
1 10 ounce can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup sour cream
1 cup grated cheddar (old) (or in the States: aged)
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup melted margarine or butter
salt and pepper to taste.

Mix all ingredients together and put in a 9x13 pan.
Bake at 400 degrees for 1-1/2 hours.
Tammy always uses about 1/2 cup more onion and cheddar.
