Melinda has been cooking since she was in elementary school. Generally, she was helping with small tasks, and always that morning cup of coffee for me. Soon after high school graduation, she began to take her interest to a new level. She initiated Thursday Night Family Meals with elaborate menus and the whole family taking part in the cooking. She set our tables taking cues from Martha Stewart and we had homemade pasta draped all over the kitchen drying, as we chopped some of the fresh produce Homestead is famous for.

Then in the summer of 2003, we began to watch "30 Minute Meals with Rachael Ray." I was quite ill that summer and Melinda did allot of the cooking. She drew her inspiration from Rachael Ray. These days she cooks in our kitchen for Earl and herself.

I have a quite a few more recipes of Melinda's to add here, but for now I will start with the best and easiest Chicken Soup recipe ever. The inspiration came from Rachael Ray, but Melinda tweaked it along the way.
