Me…
and not the morose, pondering me, and not to be confused with ME, aka Angie, rather… the semi-upbeat Me…
my Pastor’s wife informs me that whatever I have/had has been had by others in our community, so I am not going crazy… but I do have a head cold, and the fogginess makes me want to recline, but I think being upright eases the pressure.
a dear friend of Becky’s went home to the Lord on Monday. I had the privilege of scrapping/assembling a memory book of messages from co-workers and friends for this strong and gentle woman. Over a year ago, Becky approached me abut putting the book together, the project would be rushed, as Annette had received some hard news, cancer she had beaten into submission, had returned. The doctors were not optimistic about the time left, so we rushed, and went crazy, and used Shutterfly for the first time, and a stunning book was the result. The book greatly touched Annette. We had filled the book with messages and tributes from people, and lyrics from some great praise songs (thank you, Angie for your help on that.) Then Annette and the Lord defied the odds of man and she lived for one more year. I was also privileged to be on the phone with Becky when on the other line, Becky received the news from Annette’s husband that she had just slipped into the arms of Jesus. As Becky prayed with him, I was able to pray along and agree in praise that a life well-lived was beginning a new chapter in eternity.
life keeps marching on… relentlessly, oops slipping back into moros-ity (is that a word, spell check seems to think not,) I began a new Beth Moore study (Beloved Disciple, and no I am not becoming a Beth Moore groupie… a friend at church invited me to join her. I have actually been listening to the CC St Pete 2008 Pastors’ conference series on Joshua.) But back to Beloved Disciple… Beth Moore notes "The 400 years of silence between the two Testaments marked the zenith of legalism in Israel." and then she goes onto to write that although they saw no evidence of God working in this period of silence, God most certainly was working, setting the stage for a turning point in history.
And that is one upbeat note to end this post on…

Moi -- like that one??
Hey there. . .I got your email before I read this, so I was a bit confused. Wow. . . very cool timing, to be on the phone with Becky. What a precious gift. Thanks for letting me be a part of it.
Your post *is* more upbeat. Thanks for making that effort, I know it’s not easy.
I saw Beth Moore on TV a few weeks ago, and I think she was sharing a talk from “Beloved Disciple” and really had some fun when John writes about the dash to the empty tomb . . and his descriptive words about himself. . .and who got to the tomb first. It will be fun when you get there — I promise.
Me? I’m crazy. But, I’m glad you’re back.
Oh, and I reinvented myself (name) just to keep your readers from getting all the “me’s” confused.
Melinda
or, angie, you could just go by angie
love you!!
very cool that the Lord gave her more time and what a gift. That is a great ending to reflect on. I wonder what is on the horizon now!
Becky
Wow…I’m gonna send this blog to her husband…he’ll be blessed. Thank you.
P.S. I AM a Beth Moore groupie!
