A no-frills blog post here, I got out of bed briefly to pick up Emily and Hannah from school and a run to the library to pick up a book on hold for me.
Sickness update… a few hours after Easter festivities concluded, I felt a whopper of a cold coming on… my mom is just getting over it, Jenni had it while in Miami, Katherine, Amanda. and Hannah are getting over it… (but jury is still out on Katherine who probably should have stayed home yesterday and today… that dull glaze in her eyes and the way her upper body sways when she is standing or sitting giving weight to the “she is still sick” theory. Emily is probably a day or two from having this hit her full force, and is beginning to feel “weak”. And Hannah, who sounds the worst, (like an escapee from a TB ward) is the perkiest…. bouncy and chipper.
(we had an egg hunt in the snow…. photos follow, as soon as I feel better.)
Now we were sending Mary back to university and I was worried about her coming down with this as she was moving towards final exams… so I tell Katherine (as we were packing her a “for the road” snack box)…. “give Mary some Cold FX,” which Katherine does and then asks should she pack anything else for Mary. Now understand when Katherine was packing for Cuba I loaded her up with any and every OTC remedy Shoppers made available. Katherine being the mischevious pesky little sister that she is… gave Mary one diarrhea-relief tablet and three stool softeners for the road (clearly labelled, she is not that mischevious)
All this was happening while Mary was with Hannah and Emily buyng a friend for our hermit crab. Turns out hermit crabs are social animals and get sad when by themselves… fortunately hermit crabs only cost $3.99CAD
While I have been sick, my mom has made me (among other tasty treats) fried rice……boyo…. so goood.
Toodles, have to pick up the girls, and get a new book….

Oooooooh. . .I’m so sorry you’re under the weather.
You got me curious about Michael Connelly. Mark picked me up THREE of his books at the library. I’m still reading “The Memory Keeper’s Daughter” by Kim Edwards.
Christy (Butternug Squash) recommended it because of the special bond we all have in Henry – Caroline – Jenni. I’m just halfway. . . tough book. But, I’m told there’s redemption at the end.
Have you read it?
But, while I’m waiting (I can only read one book at a time besides the Bible) whet my appetite for Michael Connelly. I loves me a good thriller!
. . . .which is why I’m so attracted to your blog!

Okay, my MC books are:
The Narrows
View Moon
Chasing the Dime
Any thoughts? Suggestions? Is chronoligical order something to pursue with MC books?
Are you feeling better?
