Finally..the Full Story (well as full as I can muster after 2 days of Birthday

Whew, what a blast we have had… I am going to let the photos do most of the talking for me… since I might have mentioned that we have another birthday tomorrow…yep the banana will be 9…but let’s wrap up Emily’s birthday….
First up…answers to the puzzle … I give Melinda’s copy, 100% but many of you gave some mighty and mighty creative efforts…
We opened presents…
Interesting bit of trivia… The Unites States Post Office on Mary’s campus will not mail her packages to Canada due to security reasons. (Now it seems that would be more concerned about the mail coming into the country. Mary needed to mail it from a post office off campus and the package was elayed in arriving. So she sent Emily a riddle to keep her guessing about the gift. And since I like to keep you my readership involved … here is Mary’s riddle.

Now I know what the gift is, and I had a tough time with the riddle, but Mary did explain it to me later. And also from Mary, her Photoshop creation… (yeah, Mama is proud of her little girl’s growing skills.)
Emily received Flight Simulator 2004 and a joystick. Soon Tony and I had six kids (Bethany was at her new job) on our bed choosing airports and flight conditions before their inaugural flights. Let’s just say that we are glad that Air Canada requires more strenuous training. Katherine who had test driven the game earlier kept crashing but she did eventually take off from Miami International Airport for Toronto.
They spent hours playing this game. That gave me free time to have a most enjoyable chat with Melinda about history books, the settling of Canada, mystery books to share, FaceBook, and laughed and laughed….
NOW about this time Amanda was developing a fever…I need to take a few lines to talk about Amanda and illness. She is the best medicine taker. Hannah has thus far only received medication that was delivered IV, or while she was held down by big sisters and her nose was pinched shut. I present Amanda with a ginormous orange dayquil. She says I cant swallow that, so she chews it. Her face is contorting in reaction to the taste, but down it goes. I tucked her into Mary’s bed with a GameBoy. She slept mostly though the night and woke early. She is still a little weak, but had a good day.
I tucked Emily into bed. Golly, her room is cozy and so Emily. She decorated it with things she made herself… I love that room and I love her resourcefulness. (Remind me to share photos some day.)
So now a quick report on the Hollywood bash for Emily. Katherine and Sarah deserve Big Sister awards.. they went shopping for last minute groceries and supervised crafts and the Scene-It game. (and endured Grade Six ridicule at times.)
Emily decorated the table with feather boas, and glasses, and ribbons… she is following hard after her big sisters.
These friends of Emily’s quickly got into the swing of things. We decorated sunglasses and then made fancy wine glass charms to personalize some “crystal” we picked up at Value Village. Then Bethany, Katherine, and Sarah served the young ladies an assortment of hor d’oeuvre with the big hit being the McCain Smiles.

Now this is reason to live in Canada, these things are amazing.
We went outside for a photo shoot.
To wrap things up, Tony made ready for printing a photo for each party guest to take home. The guests then played a raucous round of Disney Scene- It. And now I am re-grouping for tomorrow’s festivities.
Where Emily is over the top, Hannah is going low-key. Just family, but we made invitations for it.

After church, we are going to see Monster House, and then well can’t give away all the surprises just yet.
Wowzer… that was a lot… see you tomorrow….
