The Lord is Near

This is Tony. Beth is in the hospital. She is awaiting a biopsy. It is scheduled for Wednesday. We do not know when we will get the results.

The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:5-7)
I will print any comments left here for her.

The news is devastating. Valerie we shall be praying for you. We hope the biopsy results turn out to be the best possible and that your prognosis is favorable. Tony & the Children, you are fortunate to have your religion to comfort you in these trying times. Continue to believe. God bless you all!

I love you so much, Mommy. I wish I was with you right now, but I will be soon enough.

Tony – and Beth. . .
It’s a good thing that I’m able to type while tearing up, because I cannot speak. My words seem so feeble. But, my GOD is not feeble. He is holding you both in His strong and powerful hands. He is faithful. He is good. He is Almighty. He is Jehovah.
I love you all. . .so very much!

I love you. I am praying for you. You are the star of my morning pages as you are all that I am thinking of. You and your blessed family. Thinking today how lucky I am to have you as my friend. Thinking that I would like to come and visit you in Thunder Bay and that I WILL. I am NOT happy that you are in the hospital, but I am SO happy that you are getting the treatment and care that you need to heal. I love you.

Well, talking to K-Belle was a highlight in my day. And, blogging about you, me, and that crazy Beth Moore Bible Study that has forever bonded us together kinda helped. I even put on my blue bracelet — for old times’ sake (and for you). But what sent me over the top was going back and reading about Plans A, B, and C from last year.
You were such a rock for me — and I want you to know that I’m gonna do my darndest to be a rock for you, too. Don’t know how good a weeping rock is — but I promise to do what I can.
He’s big.
He’s gracious.
He’s all-sufficient.
And, He’s HERE. . .in the midst of it all.
I love you, and will hopefully talk to you soon —

Tony and Beth, I’m praying for you. And I know that no matter how scary things are (or appear to be), God IS on His throne, and all will be right with the world.
Beth and I have chatted a bit on Angie’s blog, and I was curious if Beth had ever posted on my blog. Yup. Once. I have a collection of Chesterton quotes here http://awedmanor.wordpress.com/2009/01/02/chesterton/ including this:
Since it is lawful to pray for the coming of the Kingdom, it is lawful also to pray for the coming of the revolution that shall restore the Kingdom. It is lawful to hope to hear the wind of Heaven in the trees. It is lawful to pray “Thine anger come on earth as it is in Heavenâ€.
Beth commented: It is lawful to hope to hear the wind of Heaven in the trees. I want to think thoughts like this all the time… i love Chesterton, Rich Mullins called him an inspiration for his music… i really want to think these kind of really big thoughts this year
“This year” is 2009. Keep on thinking really big thoughts, kid. You have a really, really big God who loves you. And tons of people who keep bringing you before Him in prayer.

Dear Beth,
I just popped over from Angie’s blog where she mentioned the trial you are currently going through. I am so sorry and will be praying for fully restored health.
I just had to ask if you are the person from Thunder Bay, Ontario who visits my blog every day. It has been such a mystery to me (since there’s no way to tell who is visiting–just from where), but it’s also been encouraging to know that there are people “out there” who are reading me regularly.
So, if it’s you, I want you to know you’ve been a big encouragement to me. Just by visiting my blog. And a shining spot in my day. Thank you so much.
I will be praying for encouragement for you in return. For good news. For easy treatments. For strength and courage as you head into this new “adventure.” May God bless you mightily.

This song is stuck in my head:
When you’re in my heart, you’re in my family.
When I’m in your heart, I’m in your family.
I’m so glad, you’re in my family,
I’m so gald, you’re in my family.
It’s a kid’s song by Laurie Berkner. It is an anthem for how I feel about you, Beth. And so many people hold you in their hearts as well. What a great, big, beautiful family you have.

Dear Valerie, I’m (we’re) praying for you. I hate to think of you in any pain and will pray for sweet
rest for you after all of the procedures you have been through. You are remarkably brave and have an amazing family as well. Love and hugs (gentle ones) Peggy

Beth,
I wandered over to your blog again because I wanted to thank you for being so sweet to leave a message on my son’s blog. I was sadden to see that you are going through a challenging time. I see so much love in the comments left by the others. Know that people you don’t even know (such as myself) are thinking of you. Take care! – Paula (aka. my3sons)

I hope you are out of the hospital and home, enjoying the warmth of your family. I’m praying every day for you and for your girls and Tony and your entire family.
Angie
Knowing that you’ll be making a trip to your HOUSE very soon just fills my heart with such gladness. And, although you need to rest, I am also tickled pink that you’ll be tap, tap, tapping away either on the blog, in emails, or on facebook. And to be honest, I don’t care what form, or what length — just knowing that its you behind those words will be awesome.
I’ve had so many thoughts about you, those precious girls, Tony, and our Savior the past couple days. I’m still blown away by the fact that a love for two very special girls and one amazing Savior has tied our hearts so closely. . . . But, that’s the nature of HIM, and the nature(s) of Jenni and Caroline.
Beth, I have been so proud of your girls the past couple of days — Katherine’s and Melinda’s blog entries . . . well, they’ve just blown me away. Raw, intense emotions supported by a strong, unwavering faith. Sounds like someone I know and love, doesn’t it? I know you are — but you should be SO VERY proud of all of the girls. The foundations you have laid in their lives is going to be part of the bedrock on which they stand — no matter what the next couple of days/weeks/months bring.
I just ran across these song lyrics. Kinda took my breath away. . .
We Will Remember – Tommy Walker
We will remember, we will remember
We will remember the works of Your hands
We will stop and give you praise
For great is Thy faithfulness
You’re our creator, our life sustainer
Deliverer, our comfort, our joy
Throughout the ages You’ve been our shelter
Our peace in the midst of the storm
With signs and wonders You’ve shown Your power
With precious blood You showed us Your grace
You’ve been our helper, our liberator
The giver of life with no end
We will remember, we will remember
We will remember the works of Your hands
We will stop and give you praise
For great is Thy faithfulness
When we walk through life’s darkest valleys
We will look back at all You have done
And we will shout, our God is good
And He is the faithful One
Hallelujah, hallelujah
To the one from whom all blessings flow
Hallelujah, hallelujah
To the one whose glory has been shown
We will remember, we will remember
We will remember the works of Your hands
We will stop and give you praise
For great is Thy faithfulness
I still remember the day You saved me
The day I heard You call out my name
You said You loved me, would never leave me
And I’ve never been the same
We will remember, we will remember
We will remember the works of Your hands
We will stop and give you praise
For great is Thy faithfulness
*********
For the record, I can’t wait to look back with you, and shout “hallelujah” for our God is good, and faithful.
Loving you from miles away……A
Adam
In these difficult times its good to know that you’ve been blessed with a multitude of friends and family giving their full support. Though I can’t be there to offer support, I want you to know that my best thoughts and wishes are with you. Also glad to hear you are back home with your wonderful family!
