Church, DVD's (Movies), Family July 21st, 2008
Hey! Long time no see! I know I know, I’m bad for not blogging in like forever, but it’s summer, and I’m not waking up at 7:30 anymore (thankfully) and it’s hard to remember to blog after noon. It’s hard to remember anything after noon. This is what’s been happening though:
I spent last week at that Bible Conference that Mommy was talking about. I really enjoyed it, not only because of the speakers, but because I got to spend a lot of the time holding Baby Leila. She farted in my hand a lot, it was an honor. One of the really great messages that I got from the conference was from Don Theobauld. He said that often the hardest times to keep the faith is when the providence of God contradicts the promises of God. I can’t tell you how much I understand this. He said we just need to look at life through the promises, rather than stumbling blindly through the providences.
I went to see two movies: Hancock and The Dark Knight, both good movies, but Batman stands out. I actually had nightmares about the Joker…well not nightmares, I mean the Joker wasn’t ever going to harm me, but in the dreams he was fighting Batman and I was seriously scared of him. That should say something about the movie. It’s breaking records now at the box office like they’re glass…One line stood out to me, after Batman flees, the Commissioners son asks why he has to leave: "Because he’s the Hero Gotham deserves, but not the one they need right now." This line is super smart, and if you want to know why, I suggest you go watch the movie. But when they say it’s not recommended for small children, they mean it. I also saw I’m Not There, the movie about Bob Dylan….what to say about that one….it’s weird. Have a person who knows some stuff about Dylan (ie Tony) with you while watching, it will make a lot more sense.
Vacation Bible School/Club starts today at Church. The theme is Rescue 9-1-1…should be interesting. I promise to have more updates…I just have to wake up on time.
