Mum’s the Word

So you know how on TV, there are ladies who walk around seeing babies everywhere…they see pregnant people, baby food commercials, baby stores, clouds shaped like bottles…then they finally decide to take a test, because they think all those things are signs? Or in the show Friends, Monica and Chandler see all these signs to get married…
Well lately it seems I’ve been hearing the same message over and over again: words are powerful, use them wisely. It’s what week 6 was about in the Believing God Bible study…the last time I went to Youth Group Bible study we looked at James 3, which is about the power of the tongue…and yesterday, even in TOK, we were talking about how powerful words are. I was sitting in class listening to Mrs. Jones talk about language and meaning and what not and I got the image of God hitting someone over the head with a book or an idea or something, just hoping that the person will notice.
So yes, I’ve noticed. I’m not really sure why, but I got the message. So yeah, when you’re out and about on the town and stuff today…just watch what you say…always be thinking about your words…and keep it real
It even appeared a little in American Idol: I was reading a recap and someone said that Brooke White sang "Love is a Battlefield" in a way that made them take notice of every word in the song. Yeah, I know, it’s a stretch, but hey…find it where you can find it.

I agree about the whole word thing. I was listening to Jon Courson on my way to work this past week and he was talking about the way we use our mouth and how we are to defend brothers/sisters and not gossip, etc.
